Patriot Coal to seek bankruptcy: report Jul 9th 2012, 19:55 Mon Jul 9, 2012 3:55pm EDT (Reuters) - Patriot Coal Corp (PCX.N) is expected to seek bankruptcy protection as early as today, and has lined up financing, Bloomberg News reported on Monday. Shares in Patriot slumped 63 percent in late trading to about 78 cents, pulling down shares in peers such as Alpha Natural Resources (ANR.N), Peabody Energy (BTU.N) and Arch Coal (ACI.N).
