(Reuters) - Rackspace Hosting Inc (RAX.N) reported a first-quarter profit that missed analysts' expectations, sending its shares down 13 percent in extended trade.
Net income rose to $23.2 million, or 17 cents per share, from $13.8 million, or 10 cents a share, a year earlier.
Analysts had expected earnings of 18 cents a share, excluding items, according to Thomson Reuters I/B/E/S.
Shares of the company, which provides managed hosting services, fell $7.42 to $50.38 in aftermarket trading. (Reporting by Supantha Mukherjee in Bangalore; Editing by Don Sebastian)
